"Don't you ever think of hanging upside-down?" he asked, using the door to climb up onto the bar. Marty shrugged. "It's a good way to change your perspective." "I'll keep that in mind," Marty replied and glanced around. "Stop fidgeting," Adam ordered, gazing slowly around the room. "You're making me nervous." "Me? I'm not the one searching for something by hanging off the ceiling," Marty replied as he scoffed and crossed his arms. Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Photo: MirkoStoedter, DeviantArt

"I'm telling you, there is no bus coming," said Freya. She leaned back on the low wall where they sat. Tish glanced at her and adjusted the bandana over her mouth. After a moment, she gestured toward the still standing bus sign.  "It says every half hour on Saturdays," Tish repeated for the third time in the past hour.  "Tish, there is no bus. We should move on," Freya said and, with a sigh, hopped down off the wall.  Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Photo: iishke , DeviantArt

He knew no one would believe him as he watched her cauldron foam in the clearing before him. He considered trying to get closer but the rose bushes surrounding her had thorns like he had never seen. After several gashes across his arms, he thought of running back, telling someone to get help or at least grab a camera. But it wouldn't be believed. There was nothing he could do but watch.  Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Photo: Rockall, DeviantArt

She waded out into the garden pond, eyes fixed on the fading paper floating among the lily pads. Ignoring the soaking of her gown, she bent over the paper, squinting at the disappearing ink. With little luck, she carefully scooped up the page with both hands, cradling it as she made her way out of the water, back to her panicking lady-in-waiting. Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Her skirts tossed up behind her as the wind blew up around the field. He watched her as he came up the lane, resisting the urge to run up to her. Her father was watching from the front lawn but it was clear from her smile that she'd forgotten her father ever existed or that he had serious objections to their relationship. "And you thought they wouldn't have anything to talk about," whispered Lady Rossvale. Lord Beresford smiled, turning his back to the girls.  "Does Helen know?" he asked. Lady Rossvale stopped smiling.  "Of course not," she replied, quietly. "We made an agreement; I honored it." Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Monday Motivation: Dragons!

Image
Puppies, kittens, and bunnies are all motivating in their own way, with cuddles and soft fur, but let me just propose this: dragons. Dragons are one of the more popular mythological creatures, it's true, yet we don't always appreciate their inspirational and motivational magic. searching for source... Take the above draconic artwork, for example. The dragon is large, dark, mysterious, ominous, perhaps even threatening. But consider this: a dragon leaving its cave in the morning, full of sleepiness and yawns. It trudges about the small clearing outside its cave, yawns and sits for a moment, and then trudges back to the cave and back to bed. Monday mornings are hard, even for dragons. (c) TSRodriguez, DeviantArt The copper dragon above, whose hoard is clearly the most wonderful books, looks somewhat ferocious, malevolent, or at least growly. However, it's entirely possible that this dragon woke up early, hasn't had his coffee yet, and realized that hi...

Her hand hesitated over the glowing bottle for the merest moment; but that was all it needed. Later, she would insist that she was drawn to it against her will. Unfortunately, as she discovered, the contents of the golden bottle cared not for the free will of men. Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Art: (c) Elena Berezina, sharandula .

The water rushed out of the painting, in an inexplicable hurry to escape from one reality to another. The clouds, ominous and silent, that drifted across the walls behind the gilded frame confused her even more as the water filled the space around her bare feet. As she lifted the hem of her dress, the water rose, its own tides and currents slowly being born in this small subconscious room. She couldn't decide if she wanted to wake up, or swim the vast ocean that her imagination offered. Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Art: Lost Boat (c) Silvia15, DeviantArt

"Shouldn't you be taking pictures of the snow?" she asked, when she finally noticed his camera.  "It's not as pretty..." he started, and cleared his throat. "Besides, I got plenty this morning."  She smiled and looked around, adjusting her heavy coat.  "I haven't been outside in so long," she said, glancing at him again. He nodded. "Father will be furious when he finds out." Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Art: (c) Selenada , DeviantArt.

The stairs rose from the darkness of the canopy, illuminated only by a spare sunbeam. Few knew exactly where the gilded steps led; few returned from the pilgrimage. Some said the destination was different for everyone, but none knew how it was chosen. Find this blurb on Pinterest ! Art: (c) inSahne, DeviantArt.

She could hear the hoof beats as she settled down in the grass. Taking a deep breath, she tucked her head down until all that could be seen, if one looked particularly carefully, were her wide eyes. The horses came up the path and paused.  "Two weeks we've been riding," grunted one of the riders, uniform adorned with medals. The leading soldier pulled his horse around.  "The search ends when you find her, Daly," he replied. Daly bowed his head, and the group continued up the path away from her hiding place.
