"Lost, little girl?" he muttered after she stumbled into the clearing. She hadn't seen him a moment ago but he was all too real now, watching her with dark eyes and keen interest.
"I didn't see you," she started as he stepped forward.
"Are you lost?" he asked again to which she could only nod. He placed his hand on the side of her face, causing her to flinch; she felt her head slam to the side.
And she hit the ground, soft grass on the edge of the wood, again alone but no longer lost.
